I guess my story starts in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn NY. Like most New Yorkers we are used to everyday being different. You encounter a new personality and a new scam artist almost daily. I truly think this is how I learned how to be adaptable and how to "read people". Every day there was something different happening which meant I had to be observant and learn how to be 3 steps ahead of the game. As I got older I got much better at it.
Now lets fast forward a bit.
I obtain a BBA in Business Management and went straight to work. I fell in love with sales when I was working as licensed Life Insurance agent. I was there for 3 years. In my first 6 months my sales sky rocketed and I quickly was promoted to a Supervising Agent which allowed me to train and develop my own team. This is where the fun started for me. I was a young female with a team that varied in ages. My supervisors were surprised at how I was able to train them all. I think they gave me a diverse team as a challenge and they were truly surprised at my execution. My team was rocking!
We all know what happened in 09' therefore I had to transition.
I then entered the world of Higher Education Admissions. Another sales position. I literally hit the ground running. In my first two years I exceeded every goal given to me and I was promoted to Assistant Director. Again this is where the fun started again! With this role I was given the opportunity to start training the new hires and I would sit with my Director to discuss the team challenges and how to over come them. Everyone I trained was became a top producer. There were a few times that I even had to train some new Directors on sales, leadership and teambuilding tactics. This was fun! Since I was growing in my role I decided to take marketing classes because I knew this knowledge was just needed. It was sort of a gut instinct. We all know marketing and sales work hand in hand, As I grew and went up the ranks I ultimately became Director of my own location. While in this role I also obtain my MS in I/O Psychology so that I can effectively train and develop an efficient team.
It was here when things changed for me. I had so much experience and knowledge that I wanted to be part of all the talks pertaining to training, marketing, revamping etc. But because my team and I were bringing in great sales numbers they didn't want me to focus on anything else. This is when I decided to resign and venture on my own. I decided to get out of the box they had me in and start consulting.
My first contract as a sales consultant was with an educational institution, that needed help in increasing revenue. In the 4 months that I was there we increased enrollment by 45%. This included training the admissions (sales)team and using new digital marketing strategies.
This was the beginning of Sil the Drill.
I have trained real estate agents that were new to the sales industry and real estate agents that needed help in training their new sales teams.
I have also work with non profit organizations where I would help established businesses create or revamp their website.
I am also a businesses consultant that helps start ups established their marketing and sales strategy, sales pitch and social media growth.
Sales is not as scary as they make it seem, allow me to show you.
